Sunset Beach

As one of the few places on the East Coast where it is possible to watch the sun dip into the ocean at the end of the day, Sunset Beach in Cape May is a truly magical spot. The beach is not comprised of sugar sand like most NJ beaches; instead, the waves lap at a shoreline made of smooth pink pebbles and Cape May Diamonds. Despite their name, Cape May Diamonds are actually quartz pebbles that have been polished during their 200 mile journey down the Delaware River to Sunset Beach. Offshore, pods of dolphins swim and the sunken ship, the USS Atlantus juts out of the water. And just as the Cape May Diamonds travel from afar to reach these shores, people come from all over to watch the stunning sunsets here.
