Elks Neck State Park

Even in drab Novembers, there is much color and splendor to be found in Elks Neck State Park. On a 100 foot bluff overlooking the northern portion of the Chesapeake Bay sits the Turkey Point Lighthouse. Built in 1833, the lighthouse's job was to guide navigators to the newly completed C & D Canal. Now, it is still an active navigation beacon, one that lights up not just due to a solar charged battery but also due to the magnificent Maryland sunsets.
